Life Transitions
As one chapter closes, another begins...
Life Transitions
Everyone goes though periods of change throughout their lives. Change is inevitable. Life is a rollercoaster of ups and downs. A life transition can be positive, negative, planned or unexpected. Some transitions happen without warning, and they may be quite dramatic, as in cases of accidents, death, divorce, job loss, or serious illness. Other life transitions come from positive experiences such as getting married, going away to college, starting a new job, moving to a new city, or giving birth to a child. Even though events like these are usually planned and anticipated, they can be just as life altering as the unexpected events. You might be left feeling overwhelmed, have feelings of self doubt, fear and anxiety. These life transitions are difficult as they force us to let go of the familiar and face the future with a feeling of vulnerability and uncertainty.

Some of these life transitions may include:
-
Entering college
-

How Therapy Can Help
During these periods of transition, psychotherapy can be helpful and give you a chance to learn about your strengths and to explore what you really want out of life. I can help you identify obstacles and explore patterns about conflicted feelings that may be getting in the way of reaching your personal goals. This time of reflection can result in a sense of renewal, stability, and a new equilibrium.
